This is a tablecloth quilt I'm making and not sure what to do about quilting. I've started around the center block and have a sketch of what I'm thinking of doing for the rest. What do you think? Do you have any other suggestions for me? I'd appreciate your input.

Here's the picture rather than a pdf.

That's really pretty! Don't have any suggestions though.

I think I would agree with the other gal on chat and do the "stitch in the ditch" on this one - it is so geometrical and that would work fine. You may be capable of doing some fancier stitching - but it is not a fancy type top - and meant as a table cloth - I think the straight stitching would be perfect. You might do some squiggles on the sashing part....?????

I don't know what to suggest, but I am sure what ever it is that you pick out, it's going to look just lovely. I really like your colors & the pie in the center. To cute!! :D :D :D

Maybe a diamond pattern for the main body of the quilt.

I agree with the diamond pattern. I think that would be so easy to do around the pie, and stitch in the ditch on the pie square.
Nice quilt! Looks fun. |
Too much of a beginner to offer suggestions....but I just wanted to say that it is a wonderful quilt.

I would cross hatch the nine patches and then alternate the plain squares with little mini pies, blueberry sprigs and more cross hatching. I like lots of quilting in a quilt, especially if someone else is doing the quilting!

I have a friend that quilted an Apple Pie quilt for one of her customers. She wrote the ingredients around the center block in big pretty cursive stitching...."Sugar" , "Cinnamon","apples", etc. Then incorporated that into the other quilting. It was pretty suttle but looked very nice. Wish I had a picture for you, but I don't. :( I'm sure whatever you decide will be beautiful.
