I was going to say that!! That is the most important!!

Here is what I bring for sewing:

Projects (pre cut ready to go)
Small iron, spray bottle & small pressing surface
lots of rulers, olfas and a cutting mat
extra bobbins, machine and extra needles
small spot light
heavy extension cord (usually 2)
hand sewing materials, marking pencils, pins

our guild gets the hotel to put up sheets on the wall for design boards.

I am sure there is more - but wine is essential!!

LIGHTS! Bring your Ott lights, either the tabletop version or the one on a stand. I've been on tons of retreats and they never have enough lighting in them. I like to bring a small garbage pail (like you would put in a small bathroom) because I'm used to a garbage pail under my sewing machine at home. You might want to bring a mat to put under your machine to help with vibration if you're going to be using the white melamine tables. If you have the room to bring a good size cutting mat, do that as you sometimes have to wait your turn at the common cutting tables. If you have bed risers to raise the common cutting tables, everyone's back will appreciate them!

Bring snacks to share with everyone. Paper plates, bowls and napkins help as well. A name tag is a good idea if you don't know everyone.

Labels to put your name on everything or super sharp sharpies to write your name... things do get mixed up accidently and it avoids hurt feelings.

Wet wipes/germix/kleenex for your sewing area.

Tylenol, extra glasses or contacts if you wear them

Slippers & Robe ( I always forget them )

"Business Cards" with your contact name/number to hand out

CAMERA & batteries

Chargers for everything

Bottle water

Map / GPS / Directions / Reservations

Pictures of family / projects

One Dollar bills & coins

Big trash bag because nothing ever fits on the way home back the way you had it.

Have fun

And put you name on everything!! I like to put my name on both ends of my extension cords so when there's 6 cords all plugged into the same surge protector, you know which one to unplug.

I usually leave the kitchen sink and other cooking stuff at home. The rest goes with me - LOL!
