Quilts of Compassion
2 Attachment(s)
Here are two tops I made for Quilts of Compassion. They are trying to collect 1500 quilts to give to families who lost their homes in the recent tornadoes across the South. I just pulled some prints from my stash that seemed to 'play well together' and did plain 5" squares for one, and D9P for the other. Hope they give someone a little comfort.

Very pretty quilts for a good cause.
|
Just goes to show that we don't have to do "fancy" pieced blocks to make a wonderful quilt for a good cause
|
Very nice. Those are sure to bring comfort. What a wonderful effort for those poor people
|
I love them. The colors are very cheery!
|
These are both very lovely quilts, sure to cheer up someone who needs cheering.

Beautiful colors!! As someone whose home was hit by a tornado a few years back, I would like to thank you for this act of love. It was such a lonely time for us - working to clean up and repair our home while people just drove by and watched. Our damage was pretty severe but thankfully we had good insurance so we didn't have need of volunteers to help us. There were others that needed those hands much worse than we did but we still felt pretty much like no one cared. This quilt will make a huge world of difference to its recipient!!

We had a house fire many years ago and had nothing left but our kids. We were given two quilts by the ladies of the town...don't know who made them. We still have them and they are getting pretty worn but I can't part with them. They are the most treasured of all my quilts because someone cared enough to help us when we needed it. This was I 1957 so they have worn well. They were quilted by machine randomly, no pattern, made from scraps. You never know what these quilts mean to someone. I have been paying it forward with charity quilts for many years.

very pretty!!

Your quilts would make anyone smile and bring comfort to those affected by the weather's temper tantrum.
|
Beautiful quilts.

Both will be beautiful donations and I'm sure the recipients will be thankful of the kind and thoughtful gesture.

Great looking quilts & so kind & generous of you to do this for those unfortunate folks. Hopefully they can rebuild & get back on their feet soon.

Thank you! I'm not part of a group, just saw the email about it on Bonnie Hunter's blog and decided to pitch in.
