Here are the quilts I am sending to the victims of the Joplin tornado. Joplin is about 60 miles from where I live. Hopefully they will bring a smile to some children.

They're sweet!

These are so adorable! God Bless you for having the big heart you have. The kids will be so blessed to receive these quilts. :)

Where to they get sent? People on this board were so generous when Alabama was hit by the tornados in April. We collected about 400 quilts all together at least 100 of those came from this board. I would like to send something to Joplin as well.

I am sending them to Ackfeld Manufacturing Company (the company that makes the cute hangers used to hang small quilts) located in Reeds Spring, MO. They will be taking them to Joplin for giving. Their address is
Jim Ackfeld
Ackfeld Manufacturing
360 Emerson Road
Reeds Spring, MO 65737.

Thanks to anyone sending quilts to Joplin. It is a terrible situation.

OMG they are soooooo cute. Thanks for sharing

Lately I have been turning out kids' quilts. They are mostly variations of I Spy quilts. They give me the practice I need for FMQ, are fun, and come together quickly. I will send some to Joplin. I'm sure there are a lot of children that could use a cute quilt for comfort.

KSCrafter 06-08-2011 11:29 AM

Thanks, Katy! I'm just 20 miles from Joplin and many of my friends and clients have been affected by this storm. My daughter and I have been over to volunteer and it is just heartbreaking!
Thank you for being so kind with your donation!

mrstgo 06-09-2011 07:17 PM

They turned out awesome!

gramto4 07-01-2011 05:20 PM

I sent several small quilts recently and just recieved a very nice thank you letter from Ed & Peggy Ackfeld. They have received over 600 quilts and other donations but there is still a need. A Joplin quilting guild is helping with distribution. The guild also lost all their supplies in the tornado. I will be sending a few more. What a great thing the Ackfelds are doing for the people of Joplin.
