I love to make my quilts personal for the intended recipient and so I don't tend to work directly from patterns. Here are a few examples of some of my own creations.
I did the Winged Wheel in counted cross stitch and quilted retired Wings numbers in the offsetting white blocks |

I'm wanting to design a quilt for my grandson (age 8), using material that reflects his interests over the years. I have been able to collect small portions of material with prints of Winnie the Pooh, Hot Wheels, sports events, etc. Do you have any hints about creating a quilt? Should there be uniform sized blocks made up of various sized pieces within; so that the larger blocks fit nicely together into the quilt - - or does that not really matter? Nathan's quilt looks to have two different widths at various lengths. Maybe I'm making this too complicated in my mind. Just do it! Anyrate, I do appreciate your postings.
