Many of you know that my Mom and Step Dad were coming on Father's Day. (they made it and now are on their way back home) Anyways, I had made the quilt for my Step Dad as he is always doing things for me since DH can't.
They brough with them these beautiful quilts.. all made by his Paternal Grandmother around 1950 or so. He also made my 4000D set into the table top (I used my old dining room table). So now when I do quilting it'll be nice and flat... He also did something for my serger (no pic yet), but will share that later.. Here's the quilts.. they're in excellent conditon. I'm asking for a Quilt ladder for my b/d. Only 3 more months to wait! *L* |

Those are really beautiful quilts, and your parents are obviously the very best. I know you treasure them even more than the quilts, which are priceless heirlooms!
|
How sweet your stepdad is. He is one special person to give you his grandmother's quilts. What was her name? Is it on the quilts? I hope he told you all about her. Those are the stories at are passed on with the quilts for the future generations that are so neat to hear. And the reason some of us make these, to be remembered fondly, with smiles. If he didn't, maybe he could write you all the information and send it to you.
I love the way he set in your machine. You are going to be able to manuver much easier with your quilts now, for sure! |
Awesome!
I'm in love with the quilts! Can I be adopted?? ;) |

How wonderful to have such a great relationship with your Stepfather. My SIL is Stepfather to my Granddaughter and you'd never know he wasn't her biological Dad. It's such a blessing when families are like that. Those are magnificent quilts he brought you.

I have a technically, stepdaughter, but I raised her, and she is my daughter in every sense!
How wonderful to have a dad like that...ppl are ppl first, no matter, the 'technicalities'. Awesome that you get the quilts, and your s. machine table is wonderful. So happy for you :D |
