I thought it would be easy. Good for a newbe at piecing. But nothing lined up! It took me 9 months.

Wow, I am impressed! I have never made a log cabin rag quilt!

Thanks so much!! the book I bought explained the technique of doing a log cabin with strip piecing. It sounded so easy but flannel stretches!

Lynneander 09-06-2010 07:44 AM

How beautiful ... it will be cherished!

Wonderful job!

I have to ask - How many layers? 2? 4 in the seams?

2 layers. The brown on one side & the blue on the other.

Very nice!

Very clever to do a log cabin rag quilt! I haven't seen one, either. Did you use any batting, not that it's always necessary for one like this?

No: no batting just flannel. That was heavy enough. :D

patti-cakes 09-06-2010 06:40 PM

Wow..your log cabin rag quilt is the first one I've seen like that and it is really cool! You did a great job on what must have been alot of clipping!

Susy 09-06-2010 06:43 PM

Great job!, I have never seen one done like that before!

littlehud 09-06-2010 07:17 PM

That is so pretty. I love your colors. Great job.

dublb 09-06-2010 07:25 PM

Yes it was a lot of clipping but I took it to the emergency room the time my Mother fell & hit her head. I got most of the clipping done that day. I usually take some kind of hand work to the hospital when someone is there.( Dr.'s offices also.)

She didn't even have a concussion!!

annette1952 09-06-2010 07:27 PM
