This was interesting because you don't use batting. You stack 4 diff color fabrics ontop of your backing fabric. Then cut out your separate hearts. Pin all the layers together along with placement of hearts...Then run 1/4 inch lines...personally next time I think I'll do 1/2 inch...Once lines done then you take your tiny scissors and cut the channels thru the top 4 layers, being very careful not to cut your backing....You must have patience, I usually did this while watching TV at night.
Wash and you get the raggedy effect...Plus it's a real nice weight....You can't see via the photo but the diff color fabrics shows in the raggedy, nice effect. |

there is a tool you can get at hancocks to cut that with ,it cost about 12.00 and it makes it a lot easier, you just stick under the first 4 layers and slide it to the other end ,its worth it,its called a chinell cutter
