Rail Fence Variation
1 Attachment(s)
Last year when on a quilting retreat I started a project using a variation of the rail fence design. It was very quick, simple and went together very nicely but it sat as a UFO for the last 12 months so time to get it out and finish it off. I turned it into a table runner.

very pretty. one of my friends used that variation on our quilting retreat, too. she also stated it was so easy.
i like the binding... in the picture, it appears to be lacy holes. :)
Oh, I really like your rail fence variation. Usually I'm not a huge ( rail fence) fan, but now I need to revisit this. You have shown me they can be really striking. It's always great to knock out another UFO too. Love it.

This is a lovely way to use up scraps. Nice pattern.
Pretty way to protect the table and cute binding!
What a clever idea.
Is there a pattern name for this? I really like it.
A great scrappy!
Oh I just love it, I too am not a fan of the rail fence design but I really like this one. Do you mind me asking how big your squares are?
great scrappy, never thought of that layout
How fun - I like the mix of the fabrics - and the binding you chose is perfect for the piece.
Great pattern for all those squares! Nicely done~
Thanks for sharing! What a great way to use scraps!
It's fantastic...My box of 2-1/2"sq. scraps is getting pretty full, so I may just have to "borrow" this design. :)
Beautiful! I love table runners. Ill have to try this pattern. Very cool.
I like!! I need to remember this. I'm on a mission to use up scraps.
Very nice. I like this variation.

The rail fence is one of my favorites and I really like your version. A good way to use my many fat quarters. BrendaK

great job!!!!

I like the contrast between the white fabric and the scrappy patches in this version and that polka dot binding is the perfect finishing touch.

Great finish...looks like a great project for scrappy squares.

I would have never dared to put that beautiful polka dot binding on the quilt, but it works so beautifully!
Wonderful! The binding really pulls it all together, especially with the black and white squares you've included.
The white does bring out the beauty of the scraps.
