Well, the rain was coming down by buckets full, and the wind was howling at approximately 60 miles an hour, so that meant it was a sewing/nap day  Having a blast with this one. I am pleased with the way it has started out. Although the blocks are off center slightly, this is my second started quilt, have never completed on yet, so still very very new at this. Hope you enjoy.

Esqmommy 01-18-2010 09:27 PM

Are you in CA too?

Jim's Gem 01-18-2010 09:46 PM

Looks great so far. It would have been a great day to quilt, but alas today was my first day back at work since the beginning of November. I was too tired when I got home to do anything!!

Esqmommy, was it raining buckets on you today too?

Never got as bad as the weather folks predicted, but there's definitely a storm here. Supposed to get worse tomorrow. How about you?

Good news about your daughter Gayle!! Happy to hear it.

Oh yes, and your start is pretty good for a beginner. Keep going...your skills builds with each block you sew together. We're here to help answer questions.

Pinwheels are hard; I'd say you are doing an excellent job on your second quilt! Beautiful!

Jamie 01-19-2010 06:26 AM

I Love it! I've always had the hardest time getting my points on my pinwheels to line up, any tips on how you did it?

paintedquilt 01-19-2010 06:29 AM

Looks good - by the way I'm in eastern Los Angeles county (near Pomona) and the next storm is on it's way to you! Yesterday was a lulu, today not quite as much wind, but dumped buckets.

UGH! It was bad, actually almost lost complete control of my van three times today, hydroplaned!!! It was nasty today, still not as much wind as yesterday.

KBunn 01-19-2010 04:30 PM

Looks good to me too. Pinwheels are harder then they look.

Offering the snow we got here in exchange for anyone's rain. I have had enough snow and it looks like it is planning on continueing for the rest of the week.

julia58 01-19-2010 04:44 PM

We got some really really heavy rain yesterday, and the wind was something else. It came down pretty hard again today from about 10 until 1:30. Then the sun came out. Supposedly it is supposed to get even worse here in the next day or two.

BKinCO 01-19-2010 05:36 PM

LOL my guess was that you were in CA, I guess I was right! That is going to be one purty quilt when you get done!

littlehud 01-20-2010 03:26 PM
