That is so nice. I saw a you tube video to make one about a year ago for my cousin but I never got back to it. I love yours too. Great gift for someone that reads a lot in bed at night.

I like your book pillow! I saw this on SewVeryEasy, but I like the flap you put on yours maybe I could combine the 2.

My iPad holder for my lap is similar to that and works well

Necessity is the Mother of Invention point well proven here. A great idea.

Thanks everyone, and thanks SuziSew for finding that youtube tutorial, you could make a smaller version of hers adding the rail for propping a book. I used an 8 1/2" wide piece of fabric the same length as the front and back piece, sprayed-glued a piece of high loft poly batting to the back and sewed 5 lines 1/4" apart down each long side, folded it in half (right sides together) and sewed the short edges together, clipped corners, turned it right side out, basted the long raw edges together, centered it, aligning all raw edges between the front and back pieces (at the narrow end of the pillow) and sewed that seam. Hope I didn't make that sound confusing.

That is just too cool My daughter loves to read, I would love to make one for her. Did you have a pattern or did you make up your own. I read the dimensions you listed, but I'm one of these who has to have a pattern.

Very creative and love the pattern you did. Your fabric choice is beautiful.

Innov8R 05-24-2017 06:09 PM

Your idea is so good, you should make a pattern.
