Ready for Halloween

Local Guild Mystery Row BOM. 9/2016-5/2017. Given one or two block patterns each month. Our choice of fabric and block size. Just had to be in a row. Appliqué was our choice also, from quilt magazine (not sure but think McCall's quilting). Added ears to Bow tie for bats, pieced tumbler for candy corn, appliqué stem for leaves, and fussy cut Halloween motifs for square in a square. Fun to make.

That is really cute for the holiday, and it can be just as appealing for fall in general.

Bat Ears: I cut out little triangles from Steam-a-Seam backed black fabric. Steamed them down then raw edge quilted over the edges. Christmas, hmmm, I already have a Christmas quilt layered to quilt. Maybe I can get it done soon. |
