Interesting rag quilt. Nice job!

I picked up the book with the pattern in it on my way to vacation last summer. It has other patterns that are pretty cute too. Called Cut, Sew, Quilt as you go. Leisure Arts published the book. By Sheri Bignell. There are 6 projects in the book. I am making another one like this one because I liked it so much and I had enough fabric to do another one....scraps with the same color scheme.
t
It isnt flannel. I used cotton but it could be flannel too I bet. The back looks like the front without the ragging and appliqué.

quiltjoey 12-01-2012 08:01 PM

Lovely! Best rag quilt I have seen also...

Sewhappygal 12-01-2012 08:39 PM

I'm sure I have that book. Now I have to make that quilt! I love it.

Very pretty, were the flowers raw edge applique too?

What did you use (if anything ) for batting?

javin22 12-01-2012 10:45 PM

Very nice. Pretty colors and the flowers really dress it up.

I liked your quilt so much I ordered the book yesterday from Amazon. It had one negative review that said it was not worth the money but as I got a new one for $6 I'm not complaining. The other reviews were complimentary though. Can't wait to get it and get started. It's been a while since a quilt has excited me this much. I've made several rag quilts before but they were pretty utilitarian except for one baby quilt. The only thing I don't like about them is doing the ragging. All that cutting. But it's good hand work when TV watching. Is your quilt flannel?

bibi 12-02-2012 06:55 AM

It is absolutely gorgeous!

Oh, I definitely agree! Is it flannel or cotton? What type of batting did you use? Absolutely gorgeous!!!

janiesews 12-02-2012 07:16 AM

Love the applique on the rag quilt. First one I've seen like that.

Grace MooreLinker 12-02-2012 07:35 AM

what a pretty quilt, love the trailing flowers, all the colors blend so smooth.

pal 12-02-2012 08:07 AM

Beautiful quilt. Looks like a combination of Eleanor Burns "Magic Vine" and a rag quilt. What a great idea - you did a wonderful job!

margie77072 12-02-2012 08:56 AM

absolutely beautiful. I don't like rag quilts in general but I'd love one like this. It's making me rethink my position on rag quilts.

hperttula123 12-02-2012 09:00 AM

That has got to be the best looking rag quilt I've ever seen.

jeannedog 12-02-2012 09:24 AM

I've made a lot of rag quilts in my time, but nothing as pretty as this. I love what you've done with it. Soooo pretty!!

kathyjg 12-02-2012 10:38 AM

What a terrific looking rag quilt. I love doing rag quilts annd am always doing something different with them each time I make one.

ube quilting 12-02-2012 10:45 AM

Rag quilts aren't really appealing to me but this one moves into a new catagory. I like it very much, very, very much!
There is just enough fringe to give a soft effect and the colors are wonderful And adding the applique steps it up even more. Did I say I like it very much!
peace

junercrosslin 12-02-2012 01:47 PM

The quilt is beautiful

Is there a pattern for this quilt that can be purchased? If not, where could I find the instructions to make one? June
