I am SO sorry about the loss of your mother. Her dolls are such a treasure. Take your time with the little dresses. have you thought of using a piece of her clothing to make the dresses? It's just a though.

They are so sweet. I LOVE dolls but have only one antique dolly...I got her on Ebay. I used to sew and smock for dolls and sell the dresses on Ebay...That sure was fun...Hope the economy picks up a bit so I can do that again!

These dolls are most likely the ones your mom had when she was five or six which makes them from the 1920's. My MIL who will be 88 very soon has her dolls and they look very similar. She had cloth dollys when she was very small and got her bisque doll when whe was a big girl of six. Her grandma figured that at six she would be old enough not to drop it and break it which was the fate of many a poor doll. My mom always complained that her sister dropped her best doll and smashed her nose.
