I made nine patch blocks with 2 1/2 inch strips, with the yellow on the corners, cut 6 1/2 inch blue blocks, and cut the stars out from the applique template at quilterscache.com! Glad you like my quilt, I have to make one of those for me some day (or any of them, really, I'm on my 20 somethingth quilt and I don't have one!) Bought fabric to make one for me but it keeps getting pushed to the back of the pile.
