Below are some of my finished Quilts of Valor. I prefer to do the piecing myself and use a QOVF long-armer for the quilting. I have about 10 (not exaggerating) quilt tops that need backing (each takes about 4 yards), so I'll soon be having a "stash" sale!

This was a block swap

Big mistake in this one -- can you see it?

What is the second one called? I would love to make one like that. I love all of them though. great job

Pineapple Princess 06-18-2010 12:39 PM

Those are beautiful!

erstan947 06-18-2010 12:47 PM

Love them all! Great work for a wonderful cause.

feline fanatic 06-18-2010 12:48 PM

I really like that they aren't all red white and blue. I would think that some soldiers may not want a red white and blue quilt. You have done a lovely job on all of them. What is a QVOF long armer? I am assuming Quilts of Valor Free long armer? A long armer who donates their skill to quilt these?

isnthatodd 06-18-2010 12:50 PM

I saw a cool smile in the one you mentioned an error in. Do you mean you didn't do that on purpose :D

I loved the 2nd one most of all too!

bearisgray 06-18-2010 01:49 PM

Nice ones. I like the variety of them.

MistyMarie 06-18-2010 01:52 PM

THank you for doing these. I know they are well received. My dh has served for 27 years and we have known many who came back wounded. I know these quilts show them that their sacrifices were appreciated.

Fiber Artist 06-18-2010 01:53 PM

They are all very nice.

Gramma B 06-18-2010 02:19 PM

Love them all, but really like the second one. What is the name of the pattern?

saf45 06-18-2010 02:47 PM

Wow, Cat-- great job on all of these! I know they are well received and give lots of comfort to the wounded and also to their families. I love quilting Quilts of Valor. It's the least I can do after all these wounded warriors have given for my freedom.

Bless you in your work.

Beautiful quilts. They will not only warm the outside of the body but will warm the heart inside also. Thanks for your compassion

Jim's Gem 06-18-2010 04:13 PM

They are all beautiful quilts!! Thanks for sharing!

redquilter 06-18-2010 05:12 PM

Such beautiful quilts and such a worthwhile cause. Bless you for all you are doing to bring some comfort to our wounded soldiers. I'd like to know, also, about the QOV long-arm quilter. Can you give us more info? Thanks.

StitchinJoy 06-18-2010 05:25 PM

Go on the Quilts of Valor site www.qovf.org and look for the info. They can often team you with a longarmer.

STEMSAM 06-18-2010 05:27 PM

WOW!

wvdek 06-18-2010 05:35 PM

Wowee! When do you sleep or don't you? Great quilts. I especially like the one you are holding.

Boni53 06-18-2010 06:51 PM

They are beautiful. How nice to give of your self for a great cause. Two ladies and I made one together. Now two of the ladies meet every week to make quilts for Valor. They are averaging 1 1/2 per week. Even have a handi quilter to do the quilting. Great Job

weezie 06-19-2010 05:32 AM

Gosh! They are ALL very nice, including the one with the error! Thanks for the pics.

I'm afraid I can't remember the name. I'll take a look for the pattern, though.

The QOV website is qovf.org. The site explains the size, type of material, how to get a (also a volunteer) long-armer, how to get the top ready for the long-armer, etc. (When the Topper has everything ready, QOVF will team you with a Long-Armer.)

It's very fulfilling and there are some very nice people I have met through my Long-Armer connections!
