wonderful job on this quilt! I'm super impressed with your scalloped border and how nicely your binding lies in the insides of the scallops---did my first this past year and it's hard!
I think I have some of these same/similar fabrics that I've been saving for a girl grandchild--but so far just boys! And thank you Feline Fanatic on the explanation of both McTavishing and Bethanne Nemesh's techniques. I have the McTavish book (2nd edition) and she's very specific on how to get the quilt design done--I love to use it around applique or embroidery work and included some in my recent whole clothe. I've seen Nemesh's quilts or pictures of them and your description really made sense. |
Thank you for all your kind comments. Thanks Feline for explaining Nemishing. It really is fun and quick. Give it a try. I found her on a Quilt It segment: https://www.youtube.com/<wbr>watch?v=ny8dvCeG174

You have made a beautiful quilt. Just lovely.

Love your quilt, beautiful colors. So....I do not know what nemishing is. I live in a small town, don't get out much!

Beautiful quilt-I really like the pattern and colors and the whimsical feeling. I know what McTavishing is, but I don't know what Nemishing is. I like the idea of backing quilts with the minky or other robe type fabrics.

I love your cheery quilt. I am sure the recipient will be thrilled with your labor of love.
