Kwiltkrazy, Thank you for making this thread new again. This is the first time I am seeing it. Once again I feel inspired. I just hope she saved the buttons. This may have been mentioned already. I'll have to come back and read the entire thread when I have more time. This quilt just goes to show that beautiful quilting doesn't have to break the bank. What an amazing idea!

This caught my attention since I have just completed a top with reclaimed shirts! I wonder if she ever finished this beautiful quilt?
|
Love how it is coming along!
|
So cool! It's just beautiful!

Genius, absolute genius. Love your blocks. Question, how do you keep your plaids straight when they probably not straight on shirts?
|
Dear Wild: I am a big time scrappy quilter, and I just want to say I dont even collect shirts like you do, just scraps, so when I was catching up on photos today....and I opened this and scrolled down....my sleepy eyes flashed OPEN like nobodys business seeing your blocks! These are fantastic! Best thing I have seen done with plaid shirts EVER!!! I love, love , love this! Good job...wait let me say GREAT job! I love it!

Wonder if a pm to original poster would let her know new interest and want to see finished quilt....
|
Even though this is an older thread I would love to see the finished quilt. The beginnings are fantastic!

Yes, she did finish it and it looks wonderful. Check this post that she did:

Beautiful. And any of you who say "my local thrift shop doesn't have shirts like that..." They probably do, you just have to go visit them more often. Find out what days they have 'specials' and be willing to walk out with nothing at least half the time.
I now have a bin full of cut up shirts, waiting for the project of my dreams. I am planning to start a scrappy bear paw with plaids and stripes. Wish me luck. |
