Red and White All Over. Mini quilts for AAQI and one for me!

4 Attachment(s)
The quilts I have at AAQI have been sold at least 9 out of 10 have, so here's three more to add to the sales list. I'm seeing red and white.

I'm keeping this one all for myself, but maybe make another in a different colorway.

Oksewglad, these mini quilts are precious!!! how big or I should ask how small are they???

JeanieG 11-17-2012 09:46 PM

These area great, ok! You must have a lot of patience.

oksewglad 11-17-2012 10:16 PM

Thanks Honchey and Jeanie. The Red Star is made of 1 1/4 " fabrics, the H Block from 1 " cuts, the tulip block finishes at 2 1/4", and the last one most of the cuts are 1 1/4" so that makes the 9P 3/4" finished and the checkerboard 1 1/2". And they aren't PP'd.
I really don't think of it as patience, Jeanie. I just like the challenge of taking leftovers and making something from what a lot of people throw away.
My favorite is the red tulips, but the cream and fall colored one is slowly growing on me.

Love the red and white minis oksewglad, your gorgeous work never ceases to amaze me and all for such a fantastic cause.

oksewglad 11-17-2012 10:26 PM

Lynn you are too kind. Are you still doll quilt swapping? I get a lot of complements on the dotty one you sent me!

Lovely mini's, OksewGlad. Lots of chatter here again, I love that. Especially when I cannot sleep 'cause I cannot breathe, this is so nice to read the chatter here. Have taken the pill that works for me, and will be fine in 2 minutes and will go back to bed and rest... until kids get up in the morning hours of breakfast. Its fun to see pattern and color choices in everyone's quilting..l

QuiltnNan 11-18-2012 03:27 AM

wonderful mini's!!! AAQI is very lucky to have you as a contributor

carriem 11-18-2012 05:20 AM

OK--those are so cute. I too really like the tulip one! Do you do these by hand or machine?

#1piecemaker 11-18-2012 05:24 AM

All of them are beautiful. But, I think I like the tulips the best. Boy, just looking at them, you'd never realize they were so small. Great job!

Lovely and thank you for sharing
Have a Blessed day

You've done it again ... created some incredible masterpieces! :)
The H-Block makes me think of a lattice top pie.
Great display in your cake pan, to give the sizing perspective
... the ones on the wall, look so "big"!
Oh how the camera can deceive the real thing.

I'm glad you are keeping one for yourself, OKSGlad!!!
A good reward for yourself, for work well done, and your generosity.
How fortunate that AAQI is to have you as a donor.

What great work you did, those are so beautiful.

Like all the quilts. I am going to make it a goal for next year to make at least 1 quilt a month for AAQI. My dad is in very late stage Alzheimer's...so sad. My mom has some dementia too. My sister and I say we are probably doomed to get it too. For now I will do what I can to help raise money to help find a cure for Alzheimer's...or the cause.

debcavan 11-18-2012 10:49 AM

Your quilts are so precious. I am glad you are keeping one yourself.

Quilter 65 11-18-2012 11:04 AM

So pretty. I think that first one in red and white would be a beautiful full-sized quilt.

Honchey 11-18-2012 02:41 PM

Oksewglad, what is the seam allowance for your quilts???

Good for you and your once a month commitment. For me I find I will do several small tops at one time and then later sandwich them. Guess I have a short attention span.

No but I have now, thanks for steering me towards it. I have been picking up some little bits of furniture to do similar displays.

Jingle 11-18-2012 04:07 PM

Very pretty, such a wonderful job on all of them. I like the next to the last one the very best.
