Here's the pieced top for my red & white Annie's Choice block quilt which I started a year ago. Once I sewed all my blocks together I realized I hated the way it looked. Out of frustration, I ripped it all back to the individual blocks and set them aside. After 2011 arrived I decided I had to finish all my WIPs (4) before moving on to new quilts. Annie's Choice was the WIP on the top of the pile. The blocks finish at 12-inch squares, sashing 3-inches. I have added sashing and cornerstones and now I love how it is coming together. Can't wait to finish it.

It looks wonderful with the sashing and cornerstones. I think you made a good choice. I love that block, but I'd think it would get awfully busy looking with not break between the blocks. :-D

I am glad you finished it, it is beautiful.

Sometimes you just have to put a project aside, take a step back and come at it again at a later date. I'm so glad you are happy with your quilt!! It's lovely!!!

Very classic! I love red and white. I am collecting red fabric and plan to make Annie's Choice blocks as well.

It's beautiful! How are you going to quilt it? SID or all over meanders, baptist fan or what?

quiltergirl80 01-22-2011 05:25 PM

pretty!

First off thanks to everyone for such kind words. I love how board members encourage each other. And to all who run into periods of total frustration (where you want to throw the whole thing out) as I did with this one: please set the work aside for a while (even as much as a year) and when you go back to it you will see possibilities that you missed the first time around.

To kwendt: I cannot honestly say how I will quilt it.... I actually haven't begun to think about that part of it....

To quilter rkc: I love your taste in fabric color and quilt blocks (though I could not have said that about a year ago...ha..ha!)

Gorgeous! I love your fabric choices....

Really nice, sometimes I forget about using a single block pattern to use to make an entire quilt. I think the sashing and cornerstones set it off nicely....

quiltedlamb07 01-23-2011 07:18 PM

I think it is very pretty.

The oldest one I've got is about 9 years old now. Each time I take it out I put it away again...sigh.... :-(
