Red, White, and Blue
4 Attachment(s)
Last year I designed a patriotic quilt with four stripes for a friend. I named it "God Bless Dianna." Here is a link to that quilt: https://www.quiltingboard.com/pictur...a-t304777.html
I wondered if I could do a better job of quilting on a second/bigger quilt with six stripes so I redesigned and enlarged the pattern. The answer is "no" on the quilting. The dense quilting that I did on the navy borders is almost invisible. I named this one "God Bless America." It finished at 68" x 86." Attachment 621782 Attachment 621785 I had some orphan blocks left over so I put them together with the thought of making a baby quilt. After it was sewn together, it looked more like the center medallion of a larger quilt: Attachment 621788 I didn't know where to go from there so I got some sage advice and an idea from this thread: https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...t-t307215.html I had plenty of patriotic fabric left over so I turned the center medallion into an 83" x 83" monster. This one I named "Grand Old Stars." Attachment 621786 I think I've now made enough red, white, and blue quilts to last me a lifetime. |
Very nice quilts and quilting!

Quite the beautiful display of patriotic quilts! You are very creative and “dress-right-dress” with your accuracy. Fabulous finish on each of your pieces - thank you for sharing!

I love them both! GBA would make a great QOV.
I love R,W,B quilts. Yours turned out beautifully. Quilting is beautiful too.
Very nice quilts. I liked your designs a lot.
I salute you on your expertise in making of those quilts! Just stunning work.
I think you did an awesome job with this project! You should be proud of your self for the designing of not one, but 2 quilts! And, utilizing those pesky leftovers too. Both quilts are stunning & anyone receiving them are very lucky. Why not enter them in your Guild's Quilt Show this year? It might surprise you that they come home with ribbons.
All are gorgeous! Wish my brain worked like yours does!
They. are all beautiful but I especially love the last one. Great design choices!

Your quilts are visually stunning and beautifully quilted. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the quilt shows as they are sure to get ribbons.

My heart is just melting for the red this border with white stars in the last quilt. So dainty, yet expressive.
Beautiful work!!!!
Beautiful quilts. I especially like the two shades of red on the medallion. And, wish I could quilt that well!

Jenn, you have amazing creativity! I love your quilts, both the original design (which I would like to make for a QOV:) and your leftover pieces you made into a totally different, exceptional imaginative quilt. Great quilting, as well! I went to your 'God bless Dianna' post and saved the graph and your notes on page 3 for future use. I think I will be able to make it, but it won't be for a while. I have a QOV top in progress and also a King quilt top for my daughter. When those are finished I have a panel QOV and another quilt for my grand-daughter, so it will be some time before I can do this one. I hope to show you when I do.... I am half way through with the King but have no ump/energy to stay with it. I was making this one a queen for me, but daughter saw it and wants it so I am enlarging to a King.

Beautiful quilts and your quilting is awesome.
Two beauties, JENNR8R.. I do like the second God Bless quilt better than the first. It seems more balanced to my eye. But what more can be said about the the orphan medallion? It is stunning. Lovely work as always.
Wow, you did a fantastic job on all of these quilts.
Your quilts are beautiful. I especially love the Grand Old Stars.
That's very nice. Very unique in their own way.
Beautiful quilts! I particularly like the medallion quilt. That quilting in the borders of the first one is just lovely.
