I've used Hobbs 80/20 for the quilt. It is one of my favourites.

You are inspirational with your quilting expertise. Lovely, lovely quilt. Do you have a long arm machine to quilt with? How long have you been quilting - your work is terrific..

No, I am a hand quilter and quilt everything by hand. I have started in 1989.

Well, I don't have kids...but I hope some of my quilts will be on display in a museum somewhere and interested people can enjoy them for a long time.

Did you use a frame when you quilted this?
What size needle, and what kind of thread did you use.
This is a masterpiece!

I used a 18" hoop on a floor stand. Because I only quilt in one direction I need to turn the quilt.
I mainly use John James Betweens #11, the quilting thread is YLI - both are my favourites.

jdeery 03-15-2011 08:59 AM

I like quilting in one direction also, I use my thumb and quilt up.

Borntohandquilt 03-16-2011 01:41 AM

I quilt towards my body... but I think it doesn't matter how you quilt and which method you use - the result is what counts.

jdeery 03-16-2011 06:18 AM

You do beautiful work
