Here's a couple of pictures of a Dresden Plate quilt that I refurbished last year. I bought the quilt in an antique shop and it was in very poor condition but to pretty to be classified as a "cutter" quilt for crafts. It is probably 1930's era. A "lot" of the blades for the quilt had frayed or completely disintigraged. I replaced those with fabric that I had from my collection of vintage fabrics. I think I did a pretty good job. The quilt is very soft and cuddly but I believe it should only be used for display as some of the fabrics are still fragile. I have a lot of time and effort in this quilt but I believe it was well worth saving. What do you think? Thanks for looking.

I have several old quilts from this era. I have one that is especally nice. It's a Nosegay pattern with the green that was popular at that time. It was in excellent condition when I got it. Didn't have to do a thing to it. Also in my collection is: Double Wedding Ring, Grandmother's Flower Garden, Good Luck pattern and an applique that I don't know the name of. Plus a Kansas City Star pattern called Dolly Madison Star and a Grandmother's Fan that I found the tops and finished them. Love the old ones!

Wow! What a treasure you have and that quilt deserves you for what you have done for it! Treasure it. I wish everyone would try to do something like that for the old treasures. My mother quilted so many quilts. She gave my sister (who doesn't treasure anything) one and they let the dogs make a bed out of it outside. It really broke Mama's heart.
