Took me awhile, but I couldn't get to the sewing room for weeks while I waited to welcome foals... then all that's involved with school ending took time/energy. But, it's done, except for borders. I kind of like it. :D

I think there are only two places where the same floral fabrics touch each other. The lights do often. There are at least 51 different florals and 15 light fabrics. It's about 72" square now. It went together amazingly nicely. A few glitches, but I was pleased overall.

I'm particularly proud of the back--99% of the seams all lay the right direction. :wink: Looks like stained glass with the sun behind it.

To border or not hasn't been decided. I have three possibilities.
They lay to the right. The top one is too animated for me. The middle looks good, but it's all one flower, but that might be a good thing. But--it's too small. The bottom is the best option--flowers are the right size, but it seems a tad light.

OH! The pattern is log cabin--with the light strips cut 1" and the florals 1.5". The floral idea was inspired by looking at others' quilts and my gardens. I can't send you anywhere to get the pattern.

That's so pretty--I've never seen log cabin done in watercolors. Do you need a border? I like it without one. Whatever you decide will look great. You do such beautiful work. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

so if i understand your post, the light section were cut at 1 inch and when sewn they finished at a 1/2 inch each strip and the darks were cut at 1.5 and when sewn them finished at 1 inch.

the back does look amazing, it is like stained glass.

WOW!!!!!! No words to express how impressive that is, Karla! The border fabric you have looks good to me, with maybe a dark green or bright blue thin border first.
But since you put all those fabrics together so beautifully, you certainly don't need any advice!

i think you could use the 3rd fabric option if you put a smaller lighter color border first then do the next border with your 3rd fabric choice.

i agree that the 4th choice has the wrong color background
