Remembering Our Sixties
1 Attachment(s)
I've had this quilt kit for quite awhile and finally made it for my friend's 75th birthday. We've been frineds since we were 11 or 12 years old. The title comes from what she wrote on my 70th birthday signature quilt that my daughter made for me. Pati wrote "We've lived through the 60s--twice".

Great quilt and the sentiment is wonderful!

I love it! Bet she will too. I also have a friend that I met when we were about 10 or 11 and we are now in our late 40's. Hope we make it to our 70's, and are still friends, just like you and your friend.

I remember those smiley faces very well. LOL. Love the headbands.....just the thing.

Cute quilt! I have a friend who I met in the 4th grade. She is 65 now and I will be in October and we are still best friends. I couldn't have made it through some of my childhood without her.

Such bonds cannot be easily broken. What a special story of a friendship that spans the decades. I am sure she will be 'heart-warmed' every time she looks at it. Very pretty quilt.

Triggered my memory of the "I am Loved" pins. Forget about those. |

Thank you for all your positive responses. Unfortunately my friend has passed away. We didn't live near each other, so didn't meet often, but talked on the phone frequently. I miss talking to her.

So sorry about your friend. Did she get to see the quilt? You did a super job. BrendaK

Great Quilt! If you were a kid in the 70's smiley faces rocked! I remember my sister had a sweatshirt with a bunch of small plastic smiley faces on it....It's amazing I remember that shirt so vividly for some reason :-)
