Good job, I had to do the same thing to a Butterfly quilt my Mom made for me in 1949. but it was just the black fabric that melted away..

What a precious memory quilt, beautiful, and can't tell where you "fixed" it. This is my favorite quilt pattern, and so enjoy seeing the chain of life continue.

I would ask you, what are you going to do with the $700 you saved?

That is a beautiful job; I have attempted to do DWR two or three times in the past, and they're still in the UFO stack. I don't have anything this pretty from my kinfolks, now long gone, but I did redo one quilt that is my very favorite (the only one that I have kept out of more than a hundred quilts that I have done); my favorite aunt left a box full of pieced tops behind, and her kids gave the whole boxful to my son when they were clearing out her house for demolition. I took two of them, took them apart very carefully, and created one to fit my KS bed. Love love love it, even though it is only 9P, sashed with white with yellow corner posts. One of our ladies on this forum is attempting to teach me to post pictures. Maybe I can figure it out for this quilt.
