I bought this quilt top, sight unseen, from a friend of a friend's family member (3 times removed). I know little about it other than it was part of a lot she bought at a garage sale. I paid 15.00 for it and it was presented to me wadded up in the bottom of a garbage bag.
It is rough, but hopefully with a few repairs it can go on to be what someone once dreamed it would be. A quilt. Does anyone have any ideas about it's approximate age from looking at the fabric used? Does this pattern have a name? Thanks for looking. Lori |
What a beautiful treasure you have :D:D:D

Very nice. I don't know the name of the pattern, but those fabrics definately are 30's to 40's, mostly dress prints, I believe. You got a good deal!! :-) I love old quilt tops, and I have a few stashed around my house!! :-)

Looks like you will have a wonderful time restoring this quilt top. Looks like maybe 40's material as my mom had some of the gray and white.

Wow, what a find. 30's for sure.

I'd say you got a deal ..not sure of the name... Don't wash it till you get it done Beautiful

It is roughly 72 x 84 inches.

Very nice. I have one I salvaged from a Great-Grandmother. I need to repair a couple of squares but it will be nice when I get it done. It is all hand pieced. I also found four dresses from either 30's or 40's that after washing i can use for quilts. Two had the store tag still on them.

I'd say 50s

Lovely old quilt. As far as pattern, it's really just squares with sashing and cornerstones. Most of the squares are placed so that 4 of the same fabrics are together, but not all. Maybe there's another name for it. It's very attractive.
|
Dont know the pattern or any info but its beautiful. Good for you.
|
It's surprisingly attractive, I can't figure out why I don't hate it... colors are all over the place... usually not my favorite ... but I love it! It is beautiful!
|
I love it, it's so scrappy looking.
|
It almost looks like dish towels (the fabric that is). I think you can make this very nice with little effort.

Hi, I found a similar pattern in the magazine of February 2011 Issue108 of Home and Gardens American Patchwork and Quilting page 44, they call it “Time and Again”, however this one has a 4 patch unit and a 9 patch unit to it. See if this might help you Id your beautiful quilt top.
|
Beautiful. Don't know the name of the pattern, but you should just give it a name...like Dreams Come Ture!
|
Congratulations on this find! Looks like a lot of hand work and wonderful fabrics. No idea of the date but I'm jealous. What a beautiful colorful quilt this will be! Thanks you for showing it.
Blessings, Ruth |
