Here's what I worked on yesterday. When I started I still had to make a few blocks. Now all I need to do is sew on the binding and I'll be finished!

I wish I could have gotten more projects finished, but there are just not enough hours in a day. :)

That is simply gorgeous - is it the drunkards path block??

Love it Melissa - and boy are you quick when you get cracking!! :D

Melissa 04-24-2008 10:08 AM

Yes Izy, it is drunkards path. It was also my 2nd attempt at machine quilting. It was surprisingly easier than I thought it would be. Now that I know I can do it, I can't wait to finish some more stuff so I can try it again!

Melissa, that looks really cool!

Very pretty design! Did you know you wanted it that way--of did you play with turning the blocks? I love the one you did!!

If you have any hints about why the machine quilting is going well--please share!! Someone wants to buy a 40x40 top I did and I haven't quilted it yet!!

Melissa 04-25-2008 05:09 AM

Thanks, Karla. Yes, I knew I wanted it this way although I wish I would have just done a traditional drunkard's path pattern. It's not getting changed now though. :)

I don't really have any tips for the quilting. I'm just amazed I was able to do it. I had to go really slow at it to get the stitches even. I still need to practice at it a lot more.
