When I got reimbursed for my machine repair, DH told me to have fun - so I did! This pic is what I have received in so far - $205.43 worth. I'm still waiting on a Connecting Threads order.

The rotary cutter and 50 blades are from E-Bay; 2 of the books are from Barns & Noble, 2 are from Joanns and 2 (and the DVD) are from Quilt in a Day. There are 32 1/2 yards of fabric; 25 are Red Rooster from Crows Nest Quilting Fabric on E-Bay and the other yardage is from Quilt in a Day. With shipping, the fabric averaged in at $3.42 per yard. I think my funds were better off in my hands

This week is the Fabshop Inventory Blowout sale at lots of online quilt shops - Quilt in a Day is running their Fabric Frenzy fabrics at $3/yard. There's bound to be some great bargains out there!!

Now the problem is where to put it all!

OOOOOOOOOOh!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

It'll take some time to use up fifty blades! The fabric is gorgeous!

WOW!! What a haul!!!! How fun for you. You have a lifetime supply of rotary cutter blades-or you are going to be doing some MAJOR cutting!! I see a URR book-does that mean you are going to be making the quilt with us?? Sure hope so.

quiltsRfun 08-17-2008 07:35 AM

Great buys. Isn't it fun to have a shopping splurge.

I'm going to have to check out rotary cutters on eBay. I'd LOVE to have a supply of new blades.

barnbum 08-17-2008 07:39 AM

GREAT BUY! You did good..... The fabrics are gorgeous

JoanneS 08-18-2008 10:34 AM

I tried to find Crows Nest Quilting on Ebay and couldn't. Did you just click on some fabric you iked? I've never bought fabric on Ebay - I guess because I'm afraid to buy fabric I can't touch! Nudge me! :P :P

Roben 08-18-2008 11:28 AM

LOL - I do lots of shopping online! I've done that since '97 or so, and haven't had any problems, so I'm a terrible online shopping enabler :D

I picked up a piece of Red Rooster here locally, and loved the feel of it so I searched Red Rooster on E-Bay. Here is Dawn's E-Bay Store: http://stores.ebay.com/CROWSNESTQUILTINGFABRICS

I can tell you she can shove a lot of yardage in those Bulk Rate Boxes, she ships very quickly and has always been a pleasure to deal with. She stocks Red Rooster fabrics and they are first run; you can go to any quilt store and check out what the fabrics feel like first (I did  ) Most quilt shops have the Choco-Latte line. This past go-around, I e-mailed her about some she didn't have listed that I had purchased before and she put them up for me :D If you need more encouragement, I bought 25 yards that averaged out at $3.38 per yard including shipping - can't get that at Wal-Mart!

I went to the Post Office hoping my Connecting Threads order was in, but it's not yet. It'll come when I give up on it I suppose :? I did pick up some fat quarters and the Eleanor Burns Underground Railroad book yesterday - I keep hearing whispers about a URR in my ear!

mamatobugboo 08-18-2008 11:33 AM

love your new goods!!! have fun using it all up!

JoanneS 08-18-2008 12:34 PM

I went to the QIAD immediately after reading your post - and snapped up a BUNCH of bargains. I even told my DH what I was doing (he walked into the room while I was looking at fabric swatches - what else could I say?) and he said 'Go for it!' What a guy!

Quilt4u 08-18-2008 12:54 PM

Looks like you are going to be busy for a while. Enjoy.

Elizabeth A. 08-18-2008 02:04 PM

Glad you made the plunge JoanneS.

Sometimes I get surprised when I get fabric that I ordered online. You have to be really careful to watch that "swap size!"

The first fabric I bought online was on clearance for about $4 a yard, I bought all they had and was surprised to find that the selvage edge said "made exclusively for Joann's" which I found surprising from what claims to be a LQS, but it is exquisit fabric! I wish I could find fabric that nice at my Joanns!

Okay so I missed the joke, why was this revenge shopping? So the formerly broken sewing machine would have to sew it's heart out?

QuiltinLee 08-18-2008 04:38 PM

I got my Woven Star pattern out of the Amazingly Simple Stars book! It's one of my favorite books.

LOL Elizabeth - although my machine is now sewing her heart out :D The revenge part is that I am spending the $$ for repairs to my machine that the dealer I bought it from finally paid me (I had it repaired at another dealer.) I'm investing in more stash, and having so much fun seeing how far I can make it go

My Connecting Threads order finally came in! 1 pattern, 32 fat quarters, a charm pack and 5 yards of background fabric. The fabric feels very nice; I just wish it would've come faster:lol: This is the last of my revenge shopping, hopefully for a long time to come.
