Last night there was a cut work class at my viking dealer. We learned how to do cut work and reverse applique by using the cut work needles(which are little knives) Here is what I did today. Tea towels, I did a couple of different ones but they are still wet, will post pics asap.

Bb/rhodo 08-08-2011 11:16 PM

I would like to learn how to do that

Bb/rhodo 08-08-2011 11:16 PM

did this take a special design????

jansquiltn 08-09-2011 01:36 AM

Daggone it. I thought I wouldn't "need" the cutwork tool for my bernina. Now I'm just gonna have to take advantage of the special financing they have and get the cutwork and the BSR. I'll never get this stuff paid off.

I get my Viking #1 back shortly. I got it last Nov and have never been able to get it to sew right so I finally decided to take it in. I did a quilt at the same shop that had cut work. I was taught how to do it without the cutter. I watched the viking teacher make one and bought the cutter on the spot. The cd that comes with it kind of sucks and has no sound so I'm hoping that I can figure it out. I like what you did w/the reverse appl. They'd make great Christmas presents.

the cutwork kit for the viking was under 50 so I didn't think that was too bad; my walking foot cost me 128. You can do the cutwork the old fashion way but it's alot of work and more than one student had thiers fall apart when the rinsed out the wash away stabilizer. I figured to for go those headaches, 50 didn't sound so bad

do u have to have the cutter and how much do they run I have the esante ese . babylock

rushdoggie 08-09-2011 09:11 PM

Neat!

Bb/rhodo 08-09-2011 09:13 PM

ty 50 bucks isnt bad some of the feet are pricey but so worth it I have an extra embroidery foot new one I dont need wonder if they would let me trade lol
