I just realized I didn't post a picture of the other side of the quilt as you go string quilt! Since I went through so much aggravation to make it come out right, I wanted you to see the second or reverse side of it!!

Just as pretty as the string side (I like the string side best). :)

I like both sides. Sometimes simple is just right! The reverse shows off your wonderful quilting best.

Was this a quilt as you go or did you do SITD for this?

sandilee 09-07-2010 04:13 PM

I really admire your work! Great job!

Lynneander 09-07-2010 04:44 PM

Beautiful ... nice to see you back and hope you are feeling better!

Now when you get tired of one side, you can just flip it over (although I can't imagine ever getting tired of the spring side--it's wonderful!)

It is absolutely beautiful Ditter. One day, I'll have to look at your tute again. I really would like to make one.

I could not remember knowing what a string quilt was, I searched it and found it. Man it is so pretty. Quilt as you go, now I see how you did it. One question, on the front the white strips, is that applique? And first time I saw one of these patterns I thought the blocks were 'tubes'. Now I've got to look up tube quilting....ciao

littlehud 09-07-2010 07:37 PM

That backing is pretty too. Great job.

No they are the joining strips. They join the blocks together and then are sewn down,

annette1952 09-07-2010 09:33 PM
