Yesterday I posted my 1st attempt:

http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-64860-1.htm

Today I started another using the recommended supplies. I had written down the measurements so I cut everything then tried to go to the blog to double check the directions and couldn't get it to load. So, being me, I went to my usual plan B which is to wing it.

I missed the step where you add the elastic closure and had already sewn in almost all of the chipboard.

What to do, what to do. Button? No too hard to sew onto fabric backed by board!

I decided on ties which seemed a better plan to me. They wrap around holding the Kindle on the sides. The elastic only closed the case leaving the Kindle held only by the small pocket. They also allow for securing when using standing.

I also added a bit of length to the pocket and case sections when cutting. Yesterday when finishing the 1st one I had to cut 1/8 off the foamcore to have enough to slipstitch it closed. I figured the foamcore's thickness might be the culprit as well as the thick fabric. So that extra length gave me plenty to turn over the ties and sew by machine.

This one is much more me!

edited to add: I just wrapped and tucked the ties for holding it flat to read.
