I have been working on this quilt for over a week. Every thing that could go wrong, DID! I have never poked myself so much with a needle or had to recut material and rip out stitches as I did with this quilt.
It is for my nephew's soon to be baby boy. My nephew loves rally cars and I was lucky to find the designs on DaintyStitches.com They turned out really well. But it wasn't until after the top was finished sewing on the yellow tires that my son said "You know that those are motorcycle tires, right?" I almost screamed. I guess I should have looked closer instead of the color. front of Rally car quilt Back of quilt |
Yes you now know they're motorbike tyres but the baby won't. Don't you sometimes wish we pre programmed tact into our children. I thi k it's a lovely quilt.

Also I used this same yellow fabric on my grandsons car quilts and nobody has pointed out that they're bike not car tyres. And my son rides motorcross bikes and has absolutely no tact, so maybe they won't notice either. Must remember to point this out now..

Cute quilt! I used that same backing on a quilt for a little boy and he LOVES to sit on the floor with it and play with his little cars on the roads. :)
|
Where did you find the backing fabric? I've been looking for a "road" to finish one I started last year.
|
The quilt is adorable!! The fun part is the backing can be used with his own little cars for zooming around!!
Thanks for sharing! Rachel |
