Rock and Roll Quilt
 

I was asked to make this quilt by the son of a couple who got married after 43 years together ! They love the '70's and all these rock bands...I had such a fun time making this, continually having the songs running through my head as I was sewing...it was a big hit with the "newly" weds !
It took 7 miles or machine embroidery thread alone !

I love it and am sure they do, too. Those are the CD's I listen to while quilting--now you know how old I am LOL. What a great quilt, what a great friend you are!

I didn't make it as a friend, I was commissioned but thanks anyway !

Thank you...as for how long it took, you have to know that I'm retired...I barely cook, I always say, if I make toast, that's cooking...just happens that I love to sew...anyhow, it took a week to come up with the designs and I had the whole quilt completed in 28 days ! It was a bit of a rush job and I put a lot of hours in it but it was fun...I was hoping the buyer wouldn't like it so I could keep it ! I'm thinking of doing one for myself now...

Where did you find the embroidery designs or did yo digitize them yourself?

Boy does that bring back memories - I am sure that they will love it. What a thoughtful son they have.

I find all the designs online...I've been doing machine embroidery for years and years...it's just a matter of knowing how to put the different designs together...I'm almost tempted to learn digitizing myself...on my mile long "ToDo" list !
