Loved what you wrote! Loved the beautiful quilt! Loved the kids...with their wonderful smiles, and howeled when I read your comment about being sick of the red HST after 600 of them. I am just about to start a big project with so many HST and I already feel your pain!!
(After a few days you will only see the beauty of your great quilt, so take a bit of a rest before you rush off to stare at another 600!)

Wow, you started last Tuesday? Amazing!!! It's very nice.

I'll second that!! I made this quilt and love it intensely. I still can't believe I made such a complicated pattern! One thing that helped tremendously was a program called Triangulations, which I heard about here on the QB. Google it. My triangles were made in no time flat and I didn't need a ruler or a pencil. Without that program, I don't think I'd ever tackle half-square-triangles...I used to draw and sew and cut...nope.
And your quilt is just beautiful. A close cousin to mine.
How did you quilt it?

imnywoman 02-16-2013 08:38 AM

The quilt is fabulous, congrats on a job well done. And your little helpers are adorable!

MargeD 02-16-2013 08:42 AM

Absolutely "charming", and the quilt isn't bad either. LOL. Iknow you hated the HST's by the time you finished, but they have added a great dimension to the quilt. Just beautiful.

Wow! You cut and sewed this quilt so quickly. I am amazed. Can't fathom how you got that done is such a short period of time.

that's what I was thinking!!!! My guild did this as a block of the month and I finally got it done in 8 months. Even tho it was controlled thru out the 8 months, I still don't think I could have done it any faster - especially those 600 HSTs. Yikes!

Your Quilt is Beautiful!!! You did a Great job on it, it is amazing what beauty can come from scraps.

stitchingcrazy 02-16-2013 11:25 PM

You have every right to be proud. There is a tremendous amount of work in that gorgeous quilt. I have looked at this pattern lots of times on Bonny's site and thought it too challenging for me at the moment. I have lots of small half square triangles saved and they drive me up the wall. I just can't throw them away. Squaring them up takes so much time and that annoys me. 1.5" is the most common size I have. Certainly need nibble fingers.

owlvamp 02-16-2013 11:51 PM
