Congratulations to your son! Awesome quilt and quilting!

Helenq 12-01-2014 03:07 PM

Wow, Thank You for all the wonderful compliments! I can say this is one of my all time favorite quilts that I have made to date! It was just entered into QuiltCon and will find out over the next few weeks if it be traveling there. I would really like to see it hanging in Texas since this Feb. I will be going to Austin myself.

Very impressive!! Is this your own design or did you have a pattern? Regardless, it's truly remarkable art!

No this all me and my thoughts! I have seen many styles of diamond quilts for many years however I did not follow any pattern, picture or quilt. I have more of the design process posted on my blog. The design concept had been stewing for awhile knowing he was going to be taking a test last week!

Ditto - what an absolutely fabulous quilt. If your son is as good at what he does as his Mom is at what she does, the world's a better place for sure!

My DH has flown many times. He just said your quilt and quilting are outstanding. He said the helicopter looks like an A-STAR. Is that what you modelled it after? Great job!!!

Quilter 65 12-02-2014 05:52 AM

I modeled it after a Robinson R-44. I tried to get as much detail as possible without losing the puffiness of the quilting. That is the type of ship he is presently flying. There is more detail on my blog. Thanks for stopping by.
