With the help of EQ for sizing, I used a simple pattern for the flowers and another pattern for the trellis. The roses come from Bloomin' Beauties by Billie Lauder. The trellis is adapted from one in Room by Room Quilts by Barbara Cherniwchan.

Beautiful quilt and pug. Looks like spring to me.

I'm glad you didn't have more contrast -- it makes the flowers really pop against the more muted background, like it would against a real trellis. It's a beautiful effect.

I love the trellis and the background just as it is. It really lets the beautiful flowers stand out. Any more contrast may just compete with the flowers. Your quilt is just lovely.

Your quilt is just beautiful. I think it looks lovely with the light trellis on a light background. The gardener always wants the prize roses to shine. Yours shine beautifully. It is perfect!

Just beautiful.

It's very soft and subtle, which I think is quite beautiful. Sometimes strong contrast is not necessarily the right choice ...so have to disagree with you and Ms Doodle (who I think is a real sweetie).

If Doodle is anything like my 4 pugs, she will be adding more contrast with the hair she sheds. It looks so soft and cuddly, the quilt, I know Doodle is.
