I recently worked for a short time at American Stationery in the telephone room and decided to make these for the friends I made there.

First at pic is the color pallet of 20 I made. It even found the perfect backing fabric for them.

What a great idea. My DBIL still has a rotary phone on his kitchen wall, lol, I should make him one. Thanks for sharing your clever idea!

Adorably done!

Maybe you could use a pigment pen and add numbers so that it looks more like a rotary dial. When I saw it I immediately thought of a painters palett. Of course it'll have more meaning to the ones you are giving them too. Love the phone fabric.

I had thought about putting their extension numbers in the center circle but decided not to incase they want to exchange colors.

Cutting out the finger holes was rough on my fingers. But I think I am going to make some more. . . just because.

If you lived closer we could cut them all out on my Brother Cut n Scan. Good luck with it, great idea, especially considering who they are going too. I do remember the rotary phones, that and party lines

Aww... thank you for your kind gesture. I appreciate that. I have never heard of a Brother Cut n Scan. Sounds like an interesting tool especially if it were capable of doing all those penny size holes.

fatsewcat 07-15-2014 03:23 PM

Thank you all for your wonderful compliments. I appreciate them all. :)
