Very, very nice. I bought 2 Rows in 2014 and 2 Rows in 2015 from 2 shops. Depending on their Rows in 2016 I'll probably buy them. Both shops mailed the patterns and Rows after the Row By Row Experience ended because they were too far from my home. I'll enjoy the 4 Rows. I bought the fabric kits offered at both shops.

This is a gorgeous quilt. Great work on all aspects of design, piecing and quilting. And a wonderful reminder of a fun summer shop hopping.

I collected 9 Row by Rows this summer as we roamed about the country, but have too many irons in the fire to do them now- It sure is fun to see yours all done up! I thought it was such a treat to even visit all those quilt shops - each was unique, beautiful, had wonderful displays and such friendly staff. I may still try to do up a quilt to keep in the RV - but right now, I am the UFO queen with a new one in the making (Bad girl, Joy!!)

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. In answer to a few comments... I didn't buy the kits, just yardage in each shop and tried to always bring my purchases in to show & share with the ladies in the next shop, so repeating the same fabrics in some of the rows did help to keep it "kind of" coordinated. I did collect a few other rows but they just didn't thrill me. I may put them into a different project, or just chalk it up to another fun stop. The frogs were from a backing fabric I had purchased in the states one time, they are all in yoga positions. That block from the shop was a very basic hand drawn block that she wanted you to buy lily pad fabric for. I didn't like the colours of her fabrics so found mine...right in my own closet when I got home..... but then that block looked really plain so machine appliquéd those fun froggies.....now I like them! Finding some of these quilt shops "along" the way was fun.... some just over 600 kms off the highway....:D DH enjoys our travels too.... will see if I have a pic of the frog fabric before it is cut up. My husband enjoyed visiting quilt shops with me, also. Perhaps next year if I can't visit all the RbR shops that I want to visit, I'll make a list and contact after like I did this year. Of all the RbR quilts I've seen your quilt is #1. Am looking forward to see your Rows in 2016.

Oh I am an extreme nut for the Row x Row. I just loved collecting the patterns and had such fun collecting. My hubby and I would take day trips and go shop to shop. Even went some places he wanted to see. My most pleasant memories of this last summer are getting R x R. Bought few kits but want3ed to use my stash if possible.
My daughter got one in Maine for me and my last one I got in Key West FL so you know I was on a mission for these. OH no I didn't sew them all but this quilt is the second one I saw done in blues that is great to look at. I too found some not to my taste. I bought the licence plates too but still not sure what to do with them either. Ideas welcome. I bought licences by yardage also the map of fabric showing Fabric County with fabric words used as locations. Enjoy your lovely quilt with all your memories. LOVE the whales. Someday I will get one done. |
Love your row by row, it's beautiful!

You did a wonderful job on your Row By Row Quilt. And the shops designed great designs too.
