My grandson is getting married June 5, and his new wife is a certified porcelain doll maker, water treatment technician, Hunter, Fisherwoman,..... and OMG wanted to learn to quilt. For Christmas this past year, we gave her all quilting things to get her started, books, scissors, needles, pincushions, rulers, cutting mat, rotary cutter, books on quilting etc., and now I think we opened up a can or worms - she practised on their sheets, and was looking for more to practise on - we provided her with material, but she didn't want to ruin it....Oh my lord...I kinda feel bad he had to go out and purchase new sheets. LOL

I have been putting together some patterns, cut out a beach bag for her to make, along with all the instructions, started a trapunto piece for her to practise on, and made this wall hanging room for her new sewing room, and giving her the instructions how to make it as well, Made her 4 blocks for the 10 minute quilt, and gave her all the cut out fabrics for another 4, and she can learn on those , sent the instructions on how to along with the U-Tube address to watch a video.

She is a beautiful lady, inside and out, really happy she will be a nice addition to our family. Thought I would share this with you.
Thanks for looking. I think they call this making memories....

My first time making binding with faux piping - need more practice!!

Oh, how pretty  Love it and the colors. Are the flowers ribbon or fabric? :D

Fabric - easy to do...
but I cut my strip 1 3/4" wide x WOF, and stitch down 1/4" on raw edges, and turn inside out, then I don't have to worry about raw edges on the wall hanging. I just used fabric glue to adhere a couple of them on the wall hanging, then I made the leaves out of batiks, soaked them in fray check overnight let them dry, they look quite real , didn't stitch them down either.
