You have inpired me to do ruler work on my DSM. It came with the ruler foot, but I am still getting used to the machine. Computers are not my forte, and this machine is totally computerized. I so hope to do as well as you have.

I use both a Pfaff Performance 5.0 and a Pfaff Select 3 (class machine). Before I start ruler work on either machine I do a little free motion quilting to check tension and just get practice on moving the quilt. Start with squares approximately 15" and learn how to move in all directions, it is easier to move side to side or backwards than move quilt around. Check out videos on Youtube, Westalee & Sew Steady websites. Don't worry about stitch length just get feel of the motion. Make sure you have a super glider to help fabric move, some type of tape or friction to hold ruler (lots to choose from) and I use free motion gloves. Then practice, practice, practice and practice some more. I have been taking a ruler class at my LQS for a year and am just finally getting comfortable and in love with my rulers.
