Very cute and bright. I know your friend will love it. I've done several with themes and I usually stitch around the parts that everyone will see, like the sailboats and the sails. That makes them seem to stand out more.

I tried that on two boats and it looked bad. tore it out. Tried putting rows and that did not work. So decided to just leave it alone.
