I made this same quilt twice. I hand stitched both of them and used different fabric for each. It is amazing how fabric can change the look of a quilt. I keep changing my mind on which I like better!!!

thanks for sharing, that was cool

They came out so differently. Thanks for sharing.

I like the top best, but the second is more uncommon.

Oh I can't choose either.

CarrieAnne 06-11-2010 02:28 PM

Very nice!

Jeanniejo 06-11-2010 02:32 PM

They are both beautiful ! It also reminds me of when I first started quilting if I saw a picture of a quilt in a magazine and I didn't like the fabrics I didn't even pay attention to the pattern. Time has tought me to look outside the box.

MamaBear61 06-11-2010 02:36 PM

They are both great. I like the circle quilting on the second one.

Kas 06-11-2010 02:41 PM

I like the circles, too. It would make a great baby boy quilt.

A little bit country...a little bit rock and roll :-P

That is a good analogy of the two quilts. They are so different.

annieshane 06-11-2010 03:29 PM

It is so interesting to see the difference of the 2 quilts. How in the world did you get your circles quilted so evenly on the second quilt. Great job on both. Thanks for sharing.

Pineapple Princess 06-11-2010 03:33 PM

Very nice!

clem55 06-11-2010 05:06 PM

I especially love the second one.

Lady Tapioca 06-11-2010 05:12 PM

I'm always amazed at the difference fabric/color can make.
I'm finally learning (after 15 years) to look at the pattern
and not the colors!

Gorgeous quilts.........love, love, love the second one :)

dkabasketlady 06-11-2010 05:38 PM

Gorgeous quilts, I can't decide which one I like better either!! Fabrics do make a quilt!

patti-cakes 06-11-2010 07:01 PM

They both have their special charm! Great job!

amma 06-11-2010 07:02 PM

They are both beautiful :D:D:D
It is fun to see the same pattern made up in totally different fabrics.

I actually used cookie cutters and hand stitched them. I have found that if you look around your house you will find many different objects.

sewnsewer2 06-11-2010 08:24 PM

Wow, they do look diferent! Love the black one, stunning!

AnnaK 06-11-2010 08:43 PM

That's neat how they look so different. Did you machine quilt your blue/brown one? Are the circles hard to quilt? I have a real need to make a circles quilt and wonder about machine quilting it. thanks for sharing this.

pam1966 06-11-2010 08:47 PM

I like them both...sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't!

SulaBug 06-11-2010 10:53 PM

They are Great!! I just love the way your different fabric makes each quilt look so different. Good Job!!
:D :D :D :D

sharon b 06-12-2010 06:37 AM

I love both of them.

grammy Dwynn 06-12-2010 06:53 AM

Both are beautiful!

It is amazing how using different fabrics it can change the looks of quilt. It is always interesting taking classes at LQS and see all the different choices the other gals have and they all turn out so wonderful and striking.

Justquilting 06-12-2010 06:56 AM

Their both nice!
It's great to see how different fabric changes them.

littlehud 06-12-2010 07:31 PM

Wow, what a difference. I love both of them. One is classic and the other is modern. Cool. Thanks for sharing.

I actually hand sewed both quilts. I used cookie cutters to make the circles. It didn't take me anytime to sew them either. A few days and it was finished. If you decide to quilt a circle quilt I would love to see it when it is finished. :)

rootyr 06-14-2010 02:11 AM

Great!

mytwopals 06-15-2010 10:21 AM

They're both very nice.

LeeAnn 06-24-2010 04:45 PM

Isn't it amazing how different fabrics can give you a totally different look with the same pattern. I like both.

mom-6 06-24-2010 04:57 PM

If you didn't stop to look closely you'd never guess the two quilts were from the same pattern. Each is a fine example of it's own style.
