Sashiko medallion
3 Attachment(s)
I finished this a while ago but finally got around to taking pictures. I bought a preprinted 12" sashiko square and, after I embroidered it, I decided to make a medallion quilt with it. Every month, I chose a new border at random until I had made a 78" x 78" quilt. This was really fun to make. I had the quilt long arm quilted except for the sashiko which I hand quilted.

Blue & White, you can never go wrong with that color combo, timeless and classy, you did an amazing job, simply beautiful.

Nice. I like the idea of making a round robin out of it.

I think it turned out lovely! I like all the different rounds but the last row around really frames it well.Good job!

WOW!! Your quilt is amazing. So many different styles, but it all works so well. I especially like the border with the random 'sticks'. You should be really proud of that one!

A border of the month club so to speak. Great way to keep things interesting. Great finish!

Love the quilt. Like the white and blue strip squares(3rd row) very interesting and an ideal I would like to try. One thing about this board always new ideals to share. Thanks
|
I love what you did with that! I took a short sashiko class a few years ago and really enjoyed the process, but haven't figured out what to do with the piece I made. You've given me ideas. Your quilt is gorgeous.

That is one beautiful quilt. I have always loved quilts with a main central theme & then surrounded with beautiful borders. You did magic with this one. The sashiko embroidery is phenomenal & is sure the center piece of this quilt. I love it!!

What an elegant quilt! And a clever approach, using the center for a medallion quilt.
