If I don't have enough fabric lengthwise to make my sashing, is it ok to take 2 pieces and miter then together to get the length? Sorry for the dumb question but I sure don't want to buy more fabric than I need for the sashing. Thanks for any suggestion!

Couldn't you put a sashed frame round each block with a contrasting square in the corners? then you'd only need pieces the length of your blocks;

It is easier to use cornerstones. It makes it easier to line everything up. But, if you don't want to do that, there is nothing wrong with piecing two pieces together for the sashing.

I usually pierce mine together on an angle. If it gets machine quilted for the finishing touch, do you really think anyone will notice a small seam like that? Unless they are the quilt police. I piece mine all the time, even when I am doing the finishing border, and I have not had one person notice it. Just make sure your thread color matches what you are doing or it might give it away.
