Very pretty! Try a cross hatch if the thread color bothers you.

Here is the link to her site: http://freemotionquilting.blogspot.c...ral-knots.html. You did a beautiful job.

This is what I usually do on my quilts. except I make my swirls larger and it is always beautiful on anything I quilt!
I think the varigated grey thread will make you happy too! I really love KT Superior thread

I love the fabrics and the pattern. It certainly doesn't look like a quickie pattern. Great job!

I think the quilt is very, very pretty! And I think the grey variegated thread would be gorgeous . Just stand there staring at it and a design will pop out that just screams to be [IT!] This is a good one for trying your hand at free-motion, just take one area at a time and play, play ,play. Then post it when you are finished cause I want to see it.

I don't think that you are giving yourself nearly enough credit! This is wonderful! And around my area (near Pittsburgh, PA) Steeler Fans would think that it is amazing!!

It't beautiful, I love the colors and the layout.

I would do the 1/4" outline straight stitch inside each section. I do a lot of that and like the way it looks. It compliments your design also.

Your quilt is just beautiful!

beautiful quilt

Oh, lots of great ideas! I checked the blogs and websites suggested... all great ideas. I think I'll take Narda's advice and go stare at it for a while. We'll see if it speaks to me... but I'm thinking I hear big flowers... I could be wrong. I promise I'll post when it's done!

beautiful quilt. whatever you do is sure to please

I think I would do a loopy meander with an added motif that echos the pattern in the border fabric. It sort of reminds me of a crysanthamum. There is also that daisy on some of the fabric which might be easier to make. The yellow solids would be good placement area. Isn't it hard to figure out the quilting patterns? My talents are so limited that I have to do something really basic.

I like your quilt. Love the colors and simplicity. Why not do straight line quilting just to be safe? You could follow the blocks and just sew on those lines. You would have to sew over some blocks to keep the straight lines going but that's ok. When it is finished, it will be beautiful. If that is too simple, then do something different for the border. Mark your quilt to do this and follow the markings. You can also use painters tape for guides on your straight lines. Good luck and I hope to see it finished.

I can see why you feel in love with this fabric...it's great. I can't help you with the quilting but I can say as member of this board we want to see it all, the good, the bad and the ugly. Your being way to hard on yourself...your quilt looks awesome.
