I work in health physics, a co-worker had a baby last year and I made them a baby quilt, the history of science.
Many of the designs came from theflossbox.com. It will be a couple of postings. Please remember this is the first quilt I acutally quilted. It's not bad, but it is unique. It actually won 3rd place as an art quilt at the county fair last year. I thougth that if the child was exposed from the cradle maybe science wouldn't be so intimadating when she got older.

I'll add the rest later. I'm really proud of this. The family who received it absolutely love it.

That is certainly different. A sneaky way to create a baby Einstein.

That is so cool!! I think you've got a great idea there...exposing children to science at a young age does make it seem more familiar and less intimidating. You can tell you put a TON of work into that!! Well done! I love it!

How creative and perfect a gift. It will have many years of love ahead.

I think that is TOTALLY COOL. I have a nephew who was exposed to books and music while in the womb. He is now an English teacher and a musician.

That is SO unique. I'm sure mom loves it!

I'm having problems posting the rest. More photos are on webshots:
