I have so many scraps I'm doing my first "Dresden Plate"...It's busy but I'm getting rid of scraps...I also have a whole tub of YO YO's I did abt 2 yrs ago and decided to use those for the ctr.
I made approx 30 plates so far and it will end up being a bedspread for my bed...Once done...and hopfully scrap free at last. Are we ever "Scrap Free?"

I have a yo yo maker also. My 12 y/o granddaughter made some to add to hairbands last year. Have some left and had no idea what to do with them. Thanks for sharing.

Scrumptious colors. Love it! So much nicer than boring 3-4 color plates.

Well done. Beautiful work and quilt. Probably won't be scrap free but good try. Let me know if you make scrap free.

Are you sure they aren't procreating?

hperttula123 07-16-2011 08:19 PM

It is great!!! I think yo-yos go perfect in the center of them. :)

Beautiful colours..and love the yo-yo centres. I'll never be scrap free - I even buy the scraps of others.

Your plates are beautiful. Love the colors.

katsewnsew 07-19-2011 07:39 AM

Beautiful job! And the yo yo's look great in the centers. But "scrap free"? Never happen!

Moedeenie 07-19-2011 07:43 AM

I recently purchased the Dresden plate templates...and you have motivated me to start using them! Your quilt blocks are beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

I love Dresdens, but I use the natural muslin for the background, especially if I have white in my plates. As far as being scrap free, nope, not ever. I have a bag of scraps that I put together over the weekend.

rootyr 07-19-2011 01:02 PM

Wonderful!

Rose Cactus 07-19-2011 01:37 PM

I used a beige toned cotton with a gold speckle in it...
