Scrap Jar Stars & Alternate Block

1 Attachment(s)
Finished one more scrappy quilt the last day of May! I worked at piecing these scrappy blocks probably two years ago while camping in our RV......this is the last scrappy top that was hanging waiting its' turn to be quilted. It is 59 x 83" ...the star block is from the Scrap Jar Stars pattern, but I chose to use an alternate block rather than the full pattern. Unfortunately I don't remember where I saw the alternate block pattern, so can't give credit for it.

Oh wow. That is a wonderful scrap quilt. I love seeing quilts made with scraps that are so interesting, visually appealing. Not to busy but used a lot of scraps. Outstanding work. I just love it.

I just love this scrappy quilt! I am drawn to scrappy quilts to start with but the stars are stunning. Great way to put those scraps together while RV'ing.

The pile is just as big....the actual scrap pieces a little smaller....

Isn't it amazing how those scrap piles/boxes/bins/drawers never get smaller? Are there scrap fairies that bring us new scraps in the night?

Nice use of scraps! Scrap Jar is on my List but I really like your alternate block. Nicely done.

Fabulous scrap masterpiece!

Wondering if you used 2" squares as in the tutorial or if you used 2.5" squares? Sure love your finished quilt with the chains of color surrounding the stars.

This looks beautiful! Well coordinated scraps. 👍

Grandma’sgirl 07-31-2020 01:35 PM

How stunning! What great work. The alternate block looks like a variation on a simple double Irish chain. What an intriguing way to put two patterns together!
