Scrappy Court House Steps for twin teenage girls :)
 

I had a project to make scrappy quilts out of my scraps. It took about 6 weeks to make the quilts and now I am in the process of quilting them. There ended up being about 17 lap size quilts. A co-work commissioned these two for her twin nieces. It is a variation on the court house steps. I took orphan squares(blocks) and started each square with them. Then I added on to each side. No specific colours just oh so random. The recipients were delighted.

They look great. A fine use for some of your scraps.

Fun quilts, they must love them, from the smiles I see. And love the idea of starting the centers with little orphan blocks. Makes it look so nice.

Wow! What a great idea to take orphan blocks for the center of your log cabin blocks. The quilts look great and you sure put some smiles on their faces.

Like the idea of starting with an orphan block and building around that. I have a large box of orphans that have been given to me. Good way to put them to use. What wonderful ideas we all have on the Board!
